so..
Our English teacher is leaving. She says she is really busy and she wants to start her own bakery (she makes really good cakes and brings them in on our birthday!!) and start a family. She is probably going to move to california. She was a really good teacher...it's sad, our sub is not bad though. In English we are reading A Midsummer Night's Dream and summarizing what we read and what the significance of the love potion is.
I feel really good today. I started doing a meditation on my own for 11 minutes. It is for overcoming feeling down on an everyday basis. You know sometimes you have everything you need, your day is going pretty good...nothing bad is happining, yet you feel like something is missing? That is what this meditation is for. Also, we are still doing those "ray mans" in the morning and that is really bringing up things that I need to work on with myself.

Some pictures from Delhi...Amrit sleeping on the bus

Kartar and Guru Amar on the bus on the way back from flavors

Waheguru, Siri Dharma and Amrit at flavors....that italian resurant in Delhi!!!

Guru Parkash, me and Guru Amrit. We are starting to feel the effect of the sugar in the chocolate mousse we are eating

it has been so long since i've written something!!! ahhh the internet was just fixed so now it is so much faster and i can get more done!! yay.
The weather is getting colder here. They gave us heaters yesterday. This girl, Tej moved into our room a few days ago because a Russian girl is coming late and is probably going into her old room. Yesterday evening I watched Anastasia with Baldev and a few juniors. It was fun, I forgot how much I liked that movie. I have been listening to a lot of my mata's music and it reminds me of her and of home. It makes me feel good.
:D
At the moment I have a big pile of clothes and my sleeping bag(I have been taking it to the meditaion every morning) at the end of my bed that I need to clean up after school. We have our matresses on the floor right now but we want to move in beds and will probably do that after school too.
It's really nice, Siri Dharma has been making cookies for after the meditation in the mornings and this morning they were banana oatmeal and really good. The bell just rang so I think i'll save this as a draft and finish it durring lunch. Sandeep, the computer teacher is saying "ok everyone out, go to your classes people! Guys move to your classes quick, only 7th grade should stay here!!" oh there goes the second bell. There is this lady named promela who rings the bells...supposedly that was 5 minutes between the two bells but i swear it was 2!
hmph!

Did I mention we finally got carpet in our room? Our room feels so much more homy and nice.

Halloween pictures and Soccer in Delhi!!

Halloween!!!!
I am a...dun dun duhhhh.......NARCOLEPTIC PERSON!!! I thought it was soo funny. We all had a sort of fashion show with our costumes and you could do a little skit or dance. When it was my turn I went out there and I said really excitedly..."Hi my name is Gurunam and I'm narcol...!" It stops because that is the point that I collapsed to the floor...asleep. I really thought it was hillarious but most people didn't get what I was saying so they were like...huh what is she?

Amrit was a flower girl/garden faerie/hippie person.

Simrit was that freaky girl from The Ring. It was soo perfect for her. Doesn't she look skary? Everyone was like wow awesome costume.
Delhi!!!!
Guru Parkash and I on the bus in Delhi on our way to go shopping! I like how in this picture the sun is shining across my face.
The soccer girls!! I'm on the left..Amrit is on the right in front and kartar is 3rd from teh left in front.

Here is Kartar in Delhi. That is Bibi in the red suit and Kash from Eugene in the green. This was taken right before we played the American Embassy.

The soccer girls and bball boys left to go.........
to Delhi from Thursday evening to Sunday afternoon to play the American Embassy School. The American Embassy is really nice for India...the grounds are good...the insides of the school look exactly like America...they had a bunch of stuff imported for their school...even the grass on the soccer field was imported from like Virginia or something, well actually I doubt that..but anyway, my point---their school is really nice.

So we got there late Tursday night...and went to sleep. I was in a room in the hotel with Guru Parkash L.A. and Siri Dharma. Amrit was in a room with Guru Parkash from Eugene! I think Kartar was in a room with Bibi and Amrit Millis.
Friday we went shopping a little bit...I bought a suit fabric and a bag. Then in the afternoon we had a game against an Indian team at the American Embassy. We lost like 5 to 3 or something. We kinda underestimated that team but it was a good learning experience. Then we went to Flavors, this really good Italian resurant. The food there was like in America, I swear we all stuffed ourselves. For dessert I had a small cheesecake, 2 chocolate moouses, a cold coffie, some chocolate cake and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. For dinner I had baked ziti noodles with brocoli and spiniach and tons of cheese on top..mmmm.

saturday we were up early because we had a game against the jr. varsity team at 8:30am. We beat them 8 to 0! That game was awesome. We had two senior guys coaching us, Guru Amrit S., from Portland and Har Rai S., from Alaska. Halfway through the game they left us to go play their bbal game against the A.E. It was ok because we were already winning by 6 points. We had Amrit Singh to be our coach. It was funny, he mixed everyone up in the last 20 minutes. It was fine, we all had fun.

After that game we hung around the embassy, ate pakoras and chai in their dining hall, checked our email in their library and cheered the MPA guys on durring their game. At 11 or 12 we had our last game. This was it. We were playing their Varsity team. The game was really good. We started out strong, I think we made the first goal quickly...but then we started slacking. At half time I think the score was 7 to 2. At halftime we had an inspiring speech from Amrit Singh and we did archer pose for 6 minutes. I think that is what really helped us. For those of you who don't know what archer pose is...it is where you stand, legs about double shoulder width apart and put your arms up like you are about to let go of the string of a bow. One of your feet is turned pointing to the side, which is the direction you are shooting your "arrow" in. You lean forward a little and stare past your outstreatched arm into the horison. Hold for 3 minutes and repeate on the opposite side.

It was really powerful for us. It helped us become more focused and calm. The score for just the second half was tied 1,1. At the end of the game I almost scored a goal...it was just me and the goalie. I was running so fast but not fast enought becasue she caught the ball before I could speed up and dodge past her. After the game Amrit Singh bought us all Gatorades.

Sunday...Guru Parkash accidentally forgot to wake me up at 7:30 to go shopping to the market where you can buy all the american food. I was a little disapointed but she gave me some food.
:D

I hung out with Siri Dharma that morning. We had the breakfast downstairs in the hotel resturant. It was subjee, eggs, corn flakes, toast, yoghurt, potatoes, roti, coffie, yucky juice and something else. After everyone got back from shopping we all packed and hauled into the rental bus. We drove an hour to a small outdoor mall-type place that was mostly resurants and cafes. They had Barista, McDonalds, Subway and a bunch of other places. I got a caramel coffie at Barista but they put so much caramel in it...thats all I was drinking!

After that we went to this other mall which was all these american stores where things were really expensive. I got some subway samwiches there but by the time i had gotten up to the counter they didn't have any more mustard...that is soooo Indian! Actually it was probably because a bunch of other people from mpa were also ordering tons of subway to bring back to people at the school.

On the train I watched Mean Girls and the Sweetest Thing. It was fun. We got back late and I stayed up even later, probably until 1am!

Bottom line....Delhi is awesome!!!

now i must go to bed!

zzzzzzzzz

4 day weekend and some pics!!

Here are a few pics of amrit and simrit. This is in Gurbani class. They were taking a break while the teacher helped other students. The gurbani teacher doesn't speak much english but we can comunicate with him ok. The one of Kartar is after school in the Library durring study hall. That is Guru Darshan with me. We're sitting in the back of the school bus on the way to the golden temple

We started doing 2 and a half hours of chanting the shabad "Ray Man..." every morning. We are doing it for 40 days. You had a choice of either doing that or going to sewa. Most people chose ray mans because we are going to have at least 2 other 40-day sewa trips durring the year. Amrit, Kartar and I are all doing ray mans and Simrit is doing sewa. We wake up at 2am now. At 2:30 ray mans start and the sewa people leave. We take a 10 minute break after an hour and have to leave the room and go walk around. After 40 days we will have said it about 12,000 times! The 12th graders are going to do this really intensive meditation course where they will do it for 18hours a day!
This last weekend was so awesome because it was 4 days long! Saturday night we had our halloween dance party which was super fun...everyone dressed up, i was a narcoleptic person...haha i thought it was funny. Simrit was that freaky girl from The Ring...it was so perfect for her...she looked really freaky! Amrit was a faerie, flower person and i don't know if kartar dressed up as a pirate or not.
Saturday was town leave...it was shorter than usual but fun as always. Sunday, gurdwara, i ordered Dominoes pizza afterwards...the rest of teh day i was lazy...watched a movie.
Monday was soooo awesome!!! Guru Parkash and Nirinjan and I went to Ananda's room after breakfast and finished a movie and talked about babies and life and beauty. Then G. P. and I cooked phalaphals, hummus and we made raitha and salad and toast and ate it all together while watching desperate houswives with ananda. Then we gave each other massages and facials. It was a wonderful relaxing day!
Tuesday i procrastinated and did homework until 2 when we had soccer practice which was really intense.
Wednesday we had a 3 hour soccer practice and in exchange for working so hard one of our coaches, Guru Amrit S. treated us all to pizza! yay

i gtg to lunch...there is about 15 minutes left and I am starving!!!!
dam these flies! They are almost everywhere now!! AAAAAAAHHHH! I can get a little spastic at them somtimes.
