Things have been pretty hectic around here.
There are 18 more days left of our 40-day sewa and 20 school days left until exams. I think all of us have mixed feeling about going home, especially all of us in 12th grade because we know that we won't be coming back next year. I am definatly excited to start a new chapter of my life, going to college at home and beginning to shape my life into what I want it to look like. It's also a really sad thought, leaving this place that has inspired and taught me so much, where I feel at home and have made friends that I know will last me a lifetime. I can only be here in the present and wring out as much from this place as I can while I'm here and take everything I have learned and put it to good use when I get home. It'll definetly be sad to leave, but I feel ready for a change.

We're in Rishikesh!!!! It's spring break!
This morning I crossed the first bridge with a few friends and we went strait to the Shanti Cafe. I ordered a banana pancake and a lassi. yummm. Next we're going to meet everyone at the German Bakery and head down to the Ganga to so swimming. We're going to go to "the rock". It's this huge rock on the banks of the Ganga that the school has been going to for a long time. Many people have jumped off the top into the water. I jumped off the rock once....I was only about a 1/5th of the way up...
Who knows, maybe this year I'll have enough courage to climb all the way to the top and overcome my fear of looking down and seeing the jagged rocks below which I must clear before reaching the water. My group is waiting....gotta go!

AUSTRALIA!!!

So you may be wondering...why am I so excited about Australia? Well for my 12th grade class trip we went there to vacation a little and to teach a Sikh Camp and since then I cannot stop thinking about the beautiful beaches, the fantastic people and the good food. I had a blast!!!! We stayed with a really nice family who fed us well and arranged everything. I think a lot of people were positively impacted by the camp and enjoyed it a lot. The weather there was perfect and the beaches were the best I have ever seen in my life!!! I really miss it there and am wondering when ever in my life will I be back there! I don't know when I would go but I HAVE to go again. Don't tell my parents but I can see myself living there someday!

It's starting to get hot! Today is Monday so we're wearing white bana and it's so bright outside I can hardly look at anyone.

40 day seva started last week on wednesday. We wake up at 2am every morning now and arrive at the Golden Temple by 2:45 to help wash the parkarma. After that we have about 45 minutes to do our own meditations and it's back to school to sleep for 2 hours before starting the day!

There has been a virus going around all the computers. My flash drive got it! I think Sandeep, the science teacher knows how to get them off.

Well, it has been a long time since I wrote anything. We've been busy! We had exams and then we had our winter break! First we had a women's course in Anandpur at the Siri Singh Sahib's house. We drank lots of yogi tea, cooked, had classes on health, goal setting, communication, relationships and a lot more, took naps in the sun, rode bikes through the surrounding villages, meditated, put on skits, yoga, cooked and laughed a lot. The guys also had a men's camp of their own back at the school.

So after the camp we went strait to Dharmsala where we stayed in a Best Western which had just been built there. It war nice and clean but the rooms were sooo cold you could see your breath!!! There were so many good resturants and cafe type places there where you could sit up on the roof in the sun and eat yummy salads and samwiches and desserts and pasta and.....the list goes on and on.
Anyway, my point=they had really good food there. I miss it already.

there is the bell!
time for math

As a treat for winning a Kabaddi tournament our team got a night out on the town! Instead of going to a resturant we decided to get Pal Bujji from a roadside stall. It was already around 8:30 and then we went out to get coffee from Coffee Day and all of us crammed into 3 tiny ricksaws on our way back to the school.
Pal Bujji: It is like tomato sauce or really thick soup eaten with bread and lots and lots of butter!!!

The Pal Bujji guy making, ya know, Pal Bujji

Here are some pictures finally!!
The Reebok store in town. I went there to look for cleats, but they only had one kind and they were too big.

This is something we did for P.T.(physical training). Human tug-o-war.
A billboard for the new mall that is being built.

A few weeks ago the girl's kabaddi team went to Jalundar for a tournament. We ended up winning by only a few points. The drive was long and the trip took the whole day, but we got to go to Haveli's and McDonald's afterwards so it was worth it! The girl's kabaddi team posing with our coaches and the people running the kabaddi tournament
Triana holding someone's baby!
with the indian girl's kabaddi team that we played

Halloween! Ms. Bentley as Frida Khalo and Emmanuel as...uh, well I don't really know exactly who he was, but it was pretty funny.

Waheguru, CJ, Bibi, Raj Paul, Guru Surya and Waheguru all dressed up as each other!

Guru Parkash and Atma at Halloween. He was Johnny Depp and she was Elizabeth from Pirates of the Carribean
